Wente Vineyards is partnering with non-profit organization Kiss the Ground to help restore the vineyard’s home soil and fight climate change. The partnership, which is a first for the California winery, will see the two organizations work together to restore the soil on the Wente Vineyards’ land back to its state before European settlers arrived in the mid-1800s.
Wente Vineyards is donating $0.25 per bottle to the nonprofit through August 2021.
Livermore Valley, CA – 22. April 2021 – Wente Vineyards is excited to announce a new partnership with Kiss the Ground, a leader in regenerative agriculture and education, to support the land and combat climate change. This partnership supports Wente Vineyards’ commitment to sustainability and making the world a better place for future generations.
From today through August 20, 2021, $0.25 of all bottles of Wente Vineyards wine sold will be donated to Kiss the Ground, up to a total of $30,000. Both organizations will promote the partnership through social media and email. In addition, Wente Vineyards will highlight the partnership on its 100% recycled print materials in stores nationwide. The money raised will support Kiss the Ground’s information and education programmes, help farmers switch to regenerative farming methods and support political and justice initiatives.
We are excited to partner and support the vision, work and educational programs of Kiss the Ground, says Nicky Wente, fifth generation winemaker and senior winery manager. The principles of carbon sequestration and regenerative agriculture align with many of our practices at Wente Vineyards. We spend a lot of time maintaining our soils and vineyards so that they can produce high quality wines for generations to come.
Wente Vineyards has been making wine and farming in a sustainable manner for 138 years, starting with the first generation winemaker C.H. Wente. After receiving one of the first vineyard and sustainable winery certifications in California in 2010, Wente Vineyards continues to introduce new sustainable practices year after year.
