Despite the unique logistical conditions of the KOVID 19 pandemic, the 2020 harvest will make it possible to produce quality wines in time for the holidays.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida. – (December 1, 2020) – Waipapa Bay Wines today announced the release of a new vintage, Sauvignon Blanc, to add to its collection of award-winning wines in time for the holidays. By 2020, Waipapa Bay Sauvignon Blanc will have the intensely concentrated aromas and flavours of gooseberries and tropical fruit with a fresh jingle. The wine shows its characteristic ripeness and acidity, which makes Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc so unique.
While the 2020 harvest will forever be synonymous with the ongoing challenges of the global COWID 19 pandemic, we are proud that this year’s harvest was a great success. Truly Marlborough, the cooler weather kept the acidity of our grapes at its optimum level, while the warm spring helped the vines avoid any risk of frost, resulting in intact fruit, according to Brent Rawstron, winemaker and vineyard owner. We are very grateful that we have been able to continue harvesting as an important activity and that we have been able to take advantage of a season that has produced some great wines. The production of quality wines is at the heart of our business and we look forward to sharing our coverage of Sauvignon 2020 with our friends in the U.S. and around the world.
Marlborough is famous for consistently producing New Zealand’s finest sauvignon blanket, and 2020 in the Bay of Vaipapa is no exception. After numerous awards for Waipapa Bay’s 2018 and 2019, the 2020 vintage follows in the footsteps of the brand’s previous achievements and has already been awarded bronze at the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC). This wine, which is mainly grown in Rapaura, one of the main wine-producing areas of the region, is characterised by its distinctive taste and aroma of citrus and ripe fruit.
Consumers interested in buying a bottle of Waipapa Bay wine can see the whale tail label in supermarkets such as Publix, Wegmans, Giant Eagle, Liquor Barn and Lowes Foods. Inspired by the eponymous name and the famous surf spot known for whale watching, the brand is passionately committed to conservation and is an active sponsor of the Whale Dolphin Conservation Program (WDC).
