Support includes emergency funding and logistics

Sonoma County Vintners/Foundation Aids COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution SANTA ROSA, CA – February 10, 2021 – The Sonoma County Vintners Foundation has activated its Emergency Relief Fund and made a donation to cover the cost of technical requirements for registration and essential supplies for KOVID-19 vaccine distribution centers throughout Sonoma County. The Sonoma County Vintners Foundation, in partnership with Sonoma County health departments, health care providers and associations, is also supporting the activation of vaccine distribution centers.

“We are honored to continue to help our community during this difficult time and are grateful for the support of our Sonoma County wine community, donors and sponsors,” said Michael Haney, executive director of the Sonoma County Vintners/Foundation. “We are deeply honored to make these important contributions during these unprecedented times. That is why we have established the Sonoma County Vintners Emergency Fund.

The Emergency Relief Fund was established to meet the needs of the Sonoma County community when adverse conditions and emergencies arise. The Sonoma County Vineyard Emergency Fund has provided $10,000 to help defray the cost of vaccine distribution. The funds will be used to purchase personal protective equipment, supplies and other necessary items. In addition, 20 iPads have been provided to facilitate the registration process.

In addition to financial support, Sonoma County Vintners helps recruit and support volunteers at vaccine distribution sites and provide education and awareness about immunization.
