The fight against poverty in the world of wine has moved a step closer with the launch of a new wine co-operative. The launch of iDealwine comes after two years of discussions and research into the best ways to help the poor in the land where wine grows. In the end, iDealwine CEO, Stephane Delpeuch (pictured above), explained “the simplest way to help was to join forces with the existing co-operative, Vendanges Solidaires, and help them to sell their wine online. Online auction house iDealwine.com has opened its charity auction to support French winemakers in need. All proceeds from the sale will go to Vendanges Solidaires, a French charity that provides financial and practical assistance to wine growers affected by climate change.
April 22 – With nearly all vineyards in France (and Europe) having been hit by catastrophic frosts and costing the French wine industry an estimated €2 billion, iDealwine has launched a charity auction to be held on April 30. End of April 2021. In the months leading up to the spring, iDealwine was busy developing the catalogue, evaluating and authenticating lots, organizing the sale and arranging shipping to winning bidders in Europe, Asia and the United States. Every cent is paid back to the winegrowers in difficulty via Vendanges Solidaires. With no reserve price, more than 300 bottles are currently in the auction battle – a win-win situation for wine lovers around the world who have the opportunity to purchase a top list wine and donate to an incredibly worthwhile cause.

Thanks to the generosity of winemakers from all over France, this charity sale offers lots not found elsewhere: Three magnums of a 2008 champagne from Selosse that isn’t even on the market yet? According to Guillaume and Anselm Celosse, the three magnums are two bottles from our cellar and one bottle originally intended for an event with the Revue du Vin de France wine critics (who rated it 20/20). This vintage will not be available until 1. September 2021 will go on sale.
