(St. Helena, CA – March 17, 2021) – For the second year in a row, HALL Wines, the leading luxury wine brand owned by Craig and Catherine Hall, is donating wine barrels that can be ordered throughout the St. Helena area and delivered to area businesses and homes to be painted and displayed, creating a large Easter egg hunting community.
Art is such an integral part of our history, says award winner Catherine Hall. Last spring, at the beginning of the pandemic, the Easter egg hunt was held at a time of great uncertainty. We are happy to donate these vessels and encourage everyone to bring out their inner artist by creatively decorating them.
Last spring, more than 200 painted wine barrels transformed the towns of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Helena in a cheerful Easter scene. Neighbors, businesses and artists placed wine barrels in the shape of Easter eggs in gardens and on storefronts, so that area residents could drive or walk through town on a full-on Easter egg hunt. Painted barrels will bring fun and vibrancy to the community in 2020, followed by resurrection in 2021. HALL Wines’ barrels offer a safe and socially diverse way to celebrate Easter in Napa’s North Valley.
The barrels were distributed by Tony Montelli and other members of the St. John’s Lodge. Helena Ordd Fellowship #167. In addition to the opportunity to be creative, barrel recipients are also encouraged to make a donation to the Napa Valley Community Foundation to help mitigate the impact on Covid-19 for local businesses. Companies in St. Helena such as Stevo Hardware and Painting Works have benefited from the increased demand for art in 2020 and hope that sales will continue to increase this year.
