April 1 – Silicon Valley, CA – At a press conference at the Nobu Hotel in Palo Alto, California, Eric Emerson Schmidt (former executive chairman of Google; technical advisor to Alphabet Inc.) and Jeff Bezos (founder, CEO of Amazon) jointly announced that they will launch the world’s first fully virtual wine brand.

Bezos and Schmidt, seated on a stage before an audience of journalists and Silicon Valley businessmen, presented the portfolio of the Davos elite. The first release, the Cabernet Sauvignon from To Kalon Vineyard in Napa Valley, is entirely virtual. Journalists attending the press conference were given a sample of Davos Elite 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon; an empty bottle accompanied by virtual reality goggles with enhanced aromatherapy technology. Mr. Bezos, who wore a well-ironed white shirt that opened at the neck and finely ironed blue jeans, said they were the first completely calorie-free, stable wines that were safe for everyone, even minors. Then Bezos opened a bottle of wine, which in the case of the Davos Elite Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 meant scanning a barcode on the bottle with his smartphone and then quickly putting on his AI glasses.

Mr. Schmidt, who sat next to Mr. Bezos in a casual suit and tie, gave the audience a digital presentation of what consumers will be able to experience when they taste the world’s first virtual wine. As soon as the end user scans the code, a whole new virtual world opens up. They can be recognized in nature, the flavors of the land are transferred to the end user through our virtual intelligence enhanced glasses. Then they will experience wine through a fascinating tour of our autonomous Sensory Meridian Response cellar and a virtual tasting led by one of our Sense Sommeliers robots. These trained professionals will educate the end consumer on the taste of wine. What they need to experience and how it will enrich their lives without harming the body.

When asked how these virtual wines would affect agriculture and the hospitality industry, Schmidt replied: You see, in the old days, farmers worked the land by hand. Then the tractor was invented and the farmer acquired new skills. The same logic applies here. We do not work on the farm or in the hospitality industry for this brand. We don’t need it. If farmers are forced to work on our brand, they can switch to a technology company and learn new digital skills if they want. You follow the technology or it passes you by.

The first virtual wine will sell for $75 a bottle. Bezos added that the Davos Enhanced Virtual Reality Goggles Aromathering will not be included in the shipment. We offer the glasses on the Amazon portal, and end users can enter a discount code when purchasing their first bottle of Davos Elite. EVRD glasses start at $400. It’s the world’s first mind-blowing wine, Bezos said. And we don’t have to bother Mother Nature with all that. It is the most environmentally friendly wine. And indeed, our Davos Elite 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon can age forever.
