The 2018 Lalande de Pomerol offers plenty of Pomerol character at a fraction of the price. Located near many of the famous vineyards of Pomerol, you will find a terroir not too different from that of Pomerol. So it’s no surprise that Lalande de Pomerol has produced some fantastic and dominant Merlot wines in 2018.

The 2018 Lalande de Pomerol is relatively forward, with deep color, good concentration, round, lush textures, and lots of ripe, sweet fruit. Lovers of these wines should seriously consider the best domains in this appellation.

The following wines were tasted in my home office in early 2021 under non-binding conditions.

2018 – Bertineau St.-Vincent – Juicy, spectacular texture, black cherry, chocolate, mint and licorice emerge on the nose and palate. Already showing its fruit and character with ease, this full-bodied wine is ready to drink. 90 pt.
